Aleanor Betty Taylor first born child of Herman and Cora (Van Surksum) Kooiman was born on April 4, 1939 on a farm near Woodstock, MN. After one year, she moved with her parents to Balaton, MN and in 1941 into Iona, MN where she spent her childhood life. She enjoyed helping her mother with caring for her siblings, chores around the house, gardening, riding bike, and playing with her neighboring friends. Aleanor received her education at the Murray County Country School, District #55 and the Slayton High School, Slayton, MN. In 1958, she took a year of Nurses training at the Pine Rest School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, MI after which she came home to work at the Murray County Memorial Hospital in Slayton. She loved taking care of the elderly and people in need of special care. On August 7, 1959, Aleanor was united in marriage to Willys Henry Kruisselbrink at the Chandler Christian Reformed Church in Chandler, MN. They made their home on the Kruisselbrink family farm near Woodstock. To this union was born four children, Bradley, Suzanne, Pamela and Alan. Willys and Aleanor enjoyed farming and raising their family on the family farm. There was never a dull moment and always plenty to do. She enjoyed entertaining, their home was always open to family and friends both young and old. Aleanor also opened her home to foreign exchange students. After a wedding Anniversary celebration of forty years, Willys went to be with his Lord on September 30, 1999. Aleanor continued farming with her son, Bradley. In the fall of 2004, she decided to quit farming and turn her part of the operation over to Bradley and her grandson, Austin. She continued to live on the farm until 2007. Aleanor met Clarence Taylor in the fall of 2005 and after dating two years, they were united in marriage on October 20, 2007 at the American Reformed Church in Woodstock. At that time, she added two new sons, Michael and Jeffrey. They made their home in Pipestone, MN.
On October 15, 2017, Aleanor and Clarence celebrated their tenth Wedding Anniversary at the American Legion hall with family and friends. On March 21, 2018, life changed for Aleanor when she was diagnosed with a “Glioblastoma Brain Tumor” and she prepared herself and her family for going to her Heavenly Home. She was a born again Christian and was looking forward to going to the new home God prepared for her. She was ready to meet her Creator, GOD, her Savior, JESUS CHRIST, and the HOLY SPIRIT, who introduced her to all three, “the trinity” FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT!!! Aleanor passed from her earthly home into her Heavenly Home on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the age of 80 years, six months, and 21 days.
Aleanor was baptized as an infant, made public confession of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior, and became a member of the Chandler Christian Reformed Church in Chandler, MN. After she was married, Aleanor joined Willys in becoming a confessing member of the American Reformed Church in Woodstock. She was active in the Sunshine Guild, Summer Bible School, Bible studies, directing the Youth Choir and singing in the Adult Choir. After her marriage to Clarence, Aleanor became a confessing member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. She loved spending time with their friends in Texas in the winter and their family in MN in the summer.
She leaves to celebrate the memories of her life, her husband, Clarence Taylor of Pipestone; her children, Bradley (Kimberly) Kruisselbrink of Woodstock, Suzanne (Arlan) Henstra of Sherman, SD, Pamela (Kerry) Bucher of Pipestone; Alan (Stacey) Kruisselbrink of Woodstock; foreign exchange daughter, Yvonne (Wil) DeMul of Eindhoven, Netherlands; her stepsons, Michael Taylor and Jeffrey Taylor, both of Pipestone; grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Wangsness of Sioux Falls, SD, Austin (Allison) Kruisselbrink of Woodstock, Taylor Kruisselbrink of Vermillion, SD, Stanton (Amy) Kelley of Liberty, TX, Austin Kelley of Guthrie, OK, Jordan (Amy) Henstra of Nashville, TN, Jamie (Bradley) Benson of Garritson, SD, Joshua (Shalayna) Henstra of Valley Springs, SD, Jaidyn Henstra of Sherman, SD, AJ (Cassie) Bucher of Pipestone, Anneka Bucher of Minneapolis, MN, Derek (Marissa) Bucher of Crooks, SD, Kayla (Nick) Thooft of Lake Benton, MN, Jasmin (Cody) Hanson of Edgerton, MN, Maci Kruisselbrink of Woodstock, and Tyson Kruisselbrink of Woodstock; 24 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Beverly (George) Peters of Boulder, CO, Dorothy (Alvin) Vis of Chandler, Laverne (Sheila) Kooiman of Bellingham, WA, Connie (Moe) Hamming of Lafayette, CO and Marshall (Roxanne) Kooiman of Slayton. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willys; her parents; and a nephew, Stacey Kooiman.
