Anna Belle Stueven was born July 23, 1919 along with her twin, Donna Belle on a farm in Pipestone County to Tom and Alma Moore. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Pipestone, Minnesota. Ann married Herbert Stueven on May 25, 1952. They were married for 56 years before Herbert died in 2008. They had twin sons, Kurt and Kent, on August 16, 1960. The boys were the joy of their lives. Herbert and Ann farmed for most of their lives. When the boys were 15 she went to Vocational School and studied sewing. She made jackets and other items for people from her home. She loved to sew. On Friday, June 16, 2023, while residing at Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, Minnesota Anna Belle passed away peacefully at the age of 103 years, 10 months, and 24 days.
Ann has been a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone since 1953. She enjoyed going to Circle meetings and W.G.A. and helping out at funerals when she could. Ann went back to Vocational school for nurses’ aid classes. In 1975 she started working at Good Samaritan Home. She continued there for 14 years. Her hobbies were crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She made 11 marionettes and she and some family members would go to nursing homes in Pipestone, Tyler, and Windom and perform with them. The residents all enjoyed seeing these as Ann enjoyed performing for them. After retiring from Good Samaritan, she was asked to be an assistant at the preschool at St. Paul Lutheran church. She worked there for one year. She also worked at the Senior Center for a few months.
She loved all her jobs, always enjoying serving people. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and the Omni chord. She often sang and played her Omni chord for friends and neighbors.
Ann is survived by her sons, Kurt (Penny) Stueven of Sioux City, Iowa, and Kent Stueven of Pipestone, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Kory (Adrienne) Stueven, Kathy (Kyle) Evans, Karissa (Mitch) Pederson, Kara (Trevor) Little, Kyle (Samantha) Stueven, Heather (Blake) Jacobs; eleven great-grandchildren; and three sisters in law, Esther Veldhuizen, Lucille Bauman and Orline McFadden. Ann was preceeded in death by her husband Herbert; parents, Tom and Alma Moore; brothers Bob and Dean; sisters Helen Bode, Donnabelle Pantekok, and Dorothy Tarrant; and eight brothers in law, Henry Bode, Ed Pantekok, Don Tarrant, Ervin Stueven, Arnold Stueven, Arnold Veldhuizen, Darrold Bauman, and William McFadden.
