Ardith Irene Texley. . .
was born to Louie and Gladys (Steinbach) Krenz on June 15, 1935 in White, South Dakota where she was raised and received her education. On October 15, 1951, she married Edwin Texley at the Lutheran parsonage in Lake Benton, Minnesota. On October 15, 2017, they celebrated their 66th anniversary. Following their marriage, they lived in Brookings, South Dakota. On July 7, 1958, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. In 1962, Ardith began working at the Hiway Caf, which was located two miles south of Pipestone. Then, in October, 1978, she became employed at Juba’s Super Valu/Coborns in Pipestone where she continued to work until her retirement. In May 2017, she became a resident at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. Ardith endured a stroke on October 6, 2017. She died at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the age of 82 years, four months and two days.
Ardith was a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of an Extension Club. She loved to read, and she also enjoyed doing crafts. She played both the piano and the organ, and for several years she was the church organist in White and Trosky.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ed Texley of Pipestone, Minnesota; five sons, Terry Texley and his wife Signe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Tom Texley and his wife Sandy of San Antonio, Texas, Tim Texley and his wife Amy of Sebring, Florida, Todd Texley of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Tony Texley and his wife Kerry of Willmar, Minnesota; three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; 17 step-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Myrtle Kruse of Phoenix, Arizona, Doris Olson of Grass Valley, California, and Marilyn Romsdahl of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter Krenz, Vernon Krenz and Roger Krenz; and three sisters, Dorothy Zeithamel, Norma Kluckman, and Marian Buchholz.
