AUDREY FAYE (VANDER LEE) BOSE was born on February 9, 1930 in Boyden, Iowa to Simon and Irene (Harmon) Vander Lee. She lived in Boyden with her family until she moved at the age of 4 to a farm north of Lake Wilson, Minnesota. She attended Lake Wilson High School, graduating with the class of 1947. On March 31, 1948, she was united in marriage to Norman Bose at her parents' home on the farm. Following their marriage, the couple moved to the Bose family farm near Woodstock, Minnesota where she resided the rest of her life. In October of 2014, she was hospitalized with a sudden illness at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She spent her last two days at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls where she passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 20 days.
She was a member of Christ the King Free Lutheran Church in Pipestone, Minnesota where she enjoyed church activities and helping the other ladies. She was a homemaker; but, she was in fact, a farmer, right alongside her husband all these many years. In later years, she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She loved watching Twins baseball and especially Lynx basketball games. Most of all, Audrey lived for her grandchildren and her prayer was that they would all join her in heaven someday.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Tyrell “Terry” Bose and his wife Nelva of Brandon, South Dakota, Robert Bose and his wife Julie of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Wendy Whalen and her husband Pat of St. Paul, Minnesota and Kristin Vis and her husband Ivan of Leota, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Shirley Heuer of Turlock, California, Mavis Hintermeister and her husband Jim of Pipestone, Minnesota and Janice Wicks and her husband Ron of New Hope, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Samuel Whalen; her parents; two brothers, Russell and Randy; and one sister, Frances.
