WILBUR "BILL" JOHN LARSON was born on November 5, 1938 to Lester and Bernice (Brown) Larson in Trent, South Dakota. Bill’s family moved from Trent to Lake Madison, South Dakota when he was a fifth grader. It was there where he was “the boy next door” to his future wife, Karen. He attended elementary school, high school, and college on the same campus, General Beadle in Madison, South Dakota, where he was high school homecoming king in 1955. He was in high school sports and attended college on a football scholarship. He graduated from college and then taught math and science in Spencer, South Dakota for one year. On June 4, 1961 he was united in marriage to Karen Campbell in Madison, South Dakota. He then taught high school math in Alexandria, South Dakota and then Manning, Iowa. He moved to Pipestone, Minnesota in 1966 where he taught math, and later included driver’s education. He was additionally assistant principal for several years and the student council advisor. He attended church all of his life, but was born again in April of 1973 when he made Jesus his Lord and Savior. He achieved a long term desire of receiving his pilot’s license in November of 1988 and was a member of the civil air patrol. He enjoyed spending summers at his summer home at Lake Madison. In 1998 he retired and the couple continued to live in their home in Pipestone. He entered the care of the Pipestone County Hospice House in Pipestone and died peacefully there on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

Bill was a member of Faith Family Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He will be remembered by all for his love of the Lord, his family, and his students. He cherished the time he spent with each.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Karen of Pipestone; three sons, Matt (Lisa) Larson of Hill City, South Dakota, Chad (Jodie) Larson of Chester, South Dakota, and Wade (Jennie) Larson of Madison, South Dakota; nine grandchildren, Haley (Nathan) Zacharias, Luke Larson, Madison Larson, McKenna Larson, Serena Larson, Rayann Larson, Loren Larson, Michaelyn Larson, and Autumn Larson; four siblings, Jim Larson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Marianne Beyer of Woodbury, Minnesota, Dianne (Keith) Scherbart of Tracy, Minnesota, and Joanne (Richard) Brown of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald; brothers-in-law, Wayne Beyer and Michael McKim; and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Larson and Kathryn Larson.
