Bryan Pistachio

BRYAN KEITH PISTACHIO was born to Gus and Lou Ann (Amundson) Pistachio on May 13, 1965 in Sun Valley, California. He was raised in the San Fernando Valley where he attended school. Upon completion of his education, he moved to Palmdale, California and was employed in construction, framing homes. In 1993, he moved to Sandy Valley, Nevada and continued to work in construction. In 1995, he moved to Witchita Falls, Texas, where he lived until 2004 when he moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. At that time, he began working at S & K Construction until he became employed as a painter at Suzlon in Pipestone. He continued to work there until the plant recently closed. On Thursday, March 17, 2011, Bryan collapsed unexpectedly and was taken to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He died there on Friday, March 18, 2011, at the age of 45 years, ten months, and five days.

Bryan was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and assisted with the Avenue of Flags. Although his work usually centered around construction, he enjoyed working as a painter. He loved riding his motorcycle. Throughout the years, he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Tonya and her husband Colby Peterson of Caldwell, Idaho; his stepdaughter, Joany Wilson of Caldwell, Idaho; his mother, Lou Ann Pistachio of Iona, Minnesota; one sister, Danette Mestas of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; two brothers, Daniel Pistachio of Sandy Valley, Nevada, and Anthony and his wife Lisa Pistachio of Pipestone, Minnesota; his grandfather, Carl Amundson of Chandler, Minnesota; and his special friend, Vivian Elsing of Chandler, Minnesota, and her daughter Nicole. He was preceded in death by his father, Gus Pistachio; his sister, Shelley Pistachio; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Amundson; his paternal grandfather, Gus Pistachio, Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Violet Plasterer; and his stepgrandfather, Blair Plasterer.
