Calvin Jay Fey

CALVIN JAY FEY was born to Charles and Hermina (Gilman) Fey on May 20, 1945 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He attended school in Jasper until the 6th grade and upon moving to Pipestone attended and graduated from Pipestone High School. Cal was united in marriage to Lois Post on September 3, 1965 at the Christian Reformed Church in Pipestone. He worked at Schulze Greenhouse and then at Pepsi Cola for nearly 25 years and at M+M Distributing until he retired in 2010. Cal was diagnosed with a tumor on the brain stem on December 3, 2015 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and went home under hospice care. On December 25, 2015 he was taken home to spend Christmas in Heaven at the age of 70 years, seven months, and five days.

Cal enjoyed woodworking, coffee time at Lange’s, fishing, and shared a hug and smile with anyone he knew. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He and Lois enjoyed evenings out socializing with others.

Cal is lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Lois of Pipestone; five children, Dean Fey of Adrian, Minnesota, Jeffrey (Amy) Fey of Blaine, Minnesota, Dawn (Ryan) Engler of Slayton, Minnesota, Ryan (Tracie) Fey of Pipestone, and Stephanie Peeso of Pipestone; four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Allison, Tony, and Esme; one brother, Allen (Chris) Fey of Kimball, South Dakota; two sisters-in-law, Delores Fey of Pipestone, and Sue Uilk of Pipestone; and many nieces and nephews. Cal was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hermina; one son, Gene Fey; and two brothers, Merlyn and Donovon Fey.
