Carol Leigh Alexander was born on June 25, 1966, to Francis and Karen (Bitterman) Spiczka in Tyler, Minnesota. She was baptized on July, 1968, and received her confirmation in 1983, both at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. Carol grew up working along with family doing gardening, and cutting and stacking wood. She enjoyed making Christmas cookies and Abelskivers with her mom. She would help her dad with his many projects inside or outside of the home. In 1985, Carol was united in marriage to David and later divorced. The couple moved to Texas for boot camp. They then decided to move back to Tyler to be closer to family. Carol was blessed with three children. She was a full-time mom to her three boys. Carol was united in marriage to Kevin and later divorced. As her parents’ health declined, she moved back into her parents’ home to help. On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Carol passed away at her home in Marshall at the age of 58 years old.
Carol liked to travel. She went to many places such as DeLand, Florida, and Louisiana to help with clean up after hurricane Katrina and also visiting Puerto Rico. After her parents passed, Carol stayed on the farm until 2022 when she moved to Marshall, Minnesota. She would do crafts of all kinds but really enjoyed beadings. For down time, she would go out with friends or work on puzzles. So many puzzles!
Carol is lovingly remembered by her sons, Michael Schroer of Tyler, Jeremy Schroer of Redfield, South Dakota, and Kyle Wesslink of Ruthton, Minnesota; siblings, Ruth (Matthew) Pearson of Nashville, Michigan, and Brenda Brown of Spearfish, South Dakota; grandchild, Cayden Hankins; nieces, Madeline and Abigail Pearson, and Serena Zufall; and nephews, Andrew and Edin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Stanley Spiczka; nephew, Nicholas Pearson; grandparents, Lowel and Mildred Engel, Matilda Spiczka, and Melvin Bitterman; aunt, Lorraine Schaffer; and uncle, Harry Spiczka.
