Chad Henry Carlson was born to Roger and Gloria (Olivier) Carlson on October 16, 1976 in Park Rapids, Minnesota. He was baptized in November of 1976. In December of 1977, the family moved to Luverne, Minnesota and then made their home in the rural Ellsworth, Minnesota area. The family moved back into Luverne in 1991. Chad was a member and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Luverne. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1995. Chad furthered his education at Southeast Technical School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he studied auto body mechanics. He worked first in Sioux Falls at Sears and Conlin’s Furniture, then in Brandon, South Dakota at Pace Manufacturing for a number of years. Chad later returned to work in Sioux Falls at Montgomery Furniture and most recently at American Tire. On April 3, 2016, Chad died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at the age of 39 years.
Chad was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne. He enjoyed throwing darts and riding his motorcycle. He was the guy that always had a smile on his face and never seemed to have a bad day. If you had a problem, you could talk to Chad. He was a great listener and knew how to be there when you needed him. He was especially proud to be a Dad. He loved his little girl and attending her activities.
Chad is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kaitlyn of Ellsworth; his father, Roger Carlson of Luverne; brothers, Dana Carlson and his wife Sheila of Tea, South Dakota and Stephen Carlson of Little Elm, Texas; aunts, uncles and other family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria.
