CHARLES "WOODY" ROBERT WOOD was born on May 17, 1967 to Robert Tresch and Catherine Lucille Bernhardt in Florence, Oregon. His family moved to Brookings, Oregon in 1970. He attended Siuslaw High School in Florence and later received his GED. Eventually he ended up back in Florence, Oregon before moving to Pipestone, Minnesota in 2002. In 2005 he moved to Woodstock, Minnesota. On October 15, 2013 he was united in marriage to Stephanie Moore in Flandreau, South Dakota. During his years on the west coast he worked logging and also did sea crabbing and on the docks. While in the Pipestone/Woodstock area he worked for numerous concrete companies, ending at Musch Construction. After a short time at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Woody died on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the age of 53 years, seven months, and 21 days.
Woody enjoyed the outdoors; he liked to go fishing and camping, climb trees, and loved to sit around a bon fire with his friends. He collected zippo lighters and listened to death metal music.
He was very giving person. He had an unconditional love for his family. He was a funny guy with a good sense of humor. He liked to tell you to “Toughen up,” but he really was a friendly teddy bear to those who knew him best.
Woody is lovingly remembered by his wife, Stephanie of Woodstock; his six children, Tiera (Jeremy) Sheldon of Gilbert, Arizona, Katie Wood of Washington, Keith Wood of Washington, Katie (Trevor) Cook of Pipestone, Minnesota, Kyler Wood of Washington, and Brittany (Dylan Fraker) Stevens of Pipestone; his siblings, Ray Wood of Eatonville, Washington, Suzin Evans of Springfield, Oregon, and Trista (Mike) Thill of Eugene, Oregon; 17 grandchildren, Tate, Peyton, Noah, Jonas, Adelyn, Anna Lisa, Bryson, Hayden, Colton, MonaLisa, Kisa, Remy, Aerial, Leroy, Ayla, Atom, and Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine Wood and Ray Wood.
