CLARICE ELAINE (GOTTSCH) ROSENKJAR was born on October 3, 1923 to Henry and Emma (Kreutzfeldt) Gottsch in Flandreau, South Dakota where she was raised and attended school. After graduation from high school, she was employed for a brief time at the Manchester Bakery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On September 22, 1946, Clarice was united in marriage to Lowell Rosenkjar at Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they farmed near Holland, Minnesota for several years before moving closer to Pipestone where they farmed until their retirement. At that time, they moved into Pipestone where they resided until 2009 when they moved into Falls Landing. In 2011, Clarice moved into the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where she passed away on July 12, 2014 at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 9 days.
Clarice was a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being a member of the Church Circle. She spent her time cross-stitching, sewing, crocheting and knitting.
Clarice is lovingly remembered be her husband, Lowell of Pipestone; one daughter, Linda (Jim) Talsma of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; one sister, Jean Linden of Casey, Illinois; one brother, Darold Gottsch of Tulare, California; and one brother-in-law, Gene (Verna) Pauley of Golden Valley, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Aaron Talsma in 1979.
