Clifford Kittelson

Clifford Wayne Kittelson was born January 26, 1932 to Tom and Esther (Johnson) Kittelson in Tyler, Minnesota. He was baptized in the Tyler Hospital, and in 1947 was confirmed at Aetna Lutheran Church near Ruthton, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm, attending country school District #103 in Ellsborough Township, and graduated from Ruthton High School in 1950. He began farming with his father, eventually taking over the farm himself. Clifford enjoyed farming, especially taking care of the sheep. He sold the livestock in 1990 and retired from crop farming in 1995. In November 2000 he moved to Danebod Village in Tyler, and then to Avera Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in 2010. It was there on Thursday, April 12, 2018 that Clifford died at the age of 86.

Clifford was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton, and was very active in the life of the congregation. He served three terms on the Church Council and was on the Cemetery Board for 20 years. He taught Sunday school and served as Sunday school treasurer. He served on the Ellsborough Township Board for 16 years and was a member of the Murray County Farm Bureau, serving on its board for 10 years. He enjoyed farming, computers, and visiting friends. He was known for his great sense of humor.

Clifford is loving remembered by his sister, Lois Edman and her husband Matthew of East Grand Forks, MN; two nieces, Susan (Brian) Larson of East Grand Forks, MN and Patricia Edman of Minneapolis, MN; one nephew, Paul (Julie) Edman of Grand Forks, ND; great-nieces and nephews, Ben and Sara Hulteng, Anna (Aaron) Bohl, Alex Larson, and Kate and Rylan Edman; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
