Curt H. Norgaard

CURTIS HARVEY NORGAARD was born March 10th, 1929 in Tyler, Minnesota and graduated from Tyler High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Esther Hansen on June 11th, 1950 in Tyler. Curt was co-owner of a caf in Tyler after marriage and then went to work for Pan O Gold Bakery in Pipestone. He worked for the Pan O Gold (Metz Baking) company until his retirement.

Curt was a long time resident of Pipestone and had many friends, including his coffee buddies at Lange’s Caf. He was an avid fisherman and hunter in his younger years and enjoyed playing Whist with family and friends.

In November 2014, Curt and Esther moved to Winthrop, Minnesota to be nearer their children. On Friday, October 2, 2015, Curt passed away at the Allina Area Hospital in New Ulm, Minnesota at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 25 days.

Curt is survived by his wife, Esther of Winthrop; brother-in-law, Marvin Thomsen of Glen Flora, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson of Forrest Lake, Minnesota; two sons, Brent (Theresa) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Dana (Kathy) of Albany, Australia; two daughters, Kristi Erickson (Mark), Winthrop, and Karla Norgaard (Andy) of Bloomington, Minnesota; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans Peter and Agnes; and his brother, Howard.
