Dale John VanDerostyne was born October 26, 1963 to Donald and Emily (Ratajczak) VanDerostyne in Tyler, Minnesota. He grew up in Tyler and graduated from Tyler High School in 1983. Following his education he worked for Roger McConnell at McConnell Farm Drainage. He drove gravel truck at Jorgensen Gravel, did concrete work for David Borresen, and currently worked for Buffalo Ridge Concrete. Dale passed away at his home in Tyler on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the age of 49 years, 3 months, and 9 days.
Dale enjoyed people and liked to help his neighbors and enjoyed his dogs, Zipper and Toby. He liked being outdoors and restoring old cars, motorcycle touring, and his favorite hobby—demolition derbies. He was a good uncle and like spending time with his nephews.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his mother and step-father, Emily and Victor Nielsen of Tyler, Minnesota; his father, Donald VanDerostyne of Luverne, Minnesota; two brothers, Kevin VanDerostyne of Lake Preston, South Dakota, and Brian VanDerostyne of Tyler, Minnesota; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tom Sutherland of Lake Benton, Minnesota; nephews John and Gary Sutherland; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Maggie Ratajczak and Ed and Emma VanDerostyne; and friends Todd Christensen and Roman Wieme.
