Darla Anna Disbrow...
was born to Darrell and LaRae (Kruger) Disbrow on May 31, 1993 at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone, Minnesota. She lived for a short time in Edgerton, Minnesota before moving to Woodstock, Minnesota where she was raised. Darla attended school in Pipestone, graduating from Pipestone Area High School in 2012. Following her graduation from high school, she moved to Luverne, Minnesota where she attended Minnesota West majoring in Massage Therapy. On Wednesday, October 3, 2012, while her mother was helping her arrange her new apartment, she suddenly collapsed and was taken to the Sanford Hospital in Luverne where she died that same day at the age of 19 years, four months and three days.
Darla attended Cornerstone Free Church in Pipestone where she was active in the youth group “Unchained”.On March 24, 2007, she was baptized by Pastor Curt Ploeger at the Ewert Rec Center in Pipestone. She enjoyed traveling on mission trips to Colorado in June of 2009 and to Hilton Head, South Carolina in July of 2011. She was very active in the Pipestone Area Band where she played the clarinet. In 2011, she took a Disney World Trip with the band to Florida. She showed her school spirit proudly when she’d say,” I’m a band geek and I’m proud of it!” Along with her other loves, one of Darla’s best buds was her dog, Pretzel. Darla was an incredibly thoughtful person. She was known for the special notes she would leave, just to make you smile when you’d come across them.
She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Darrell and LaRae Disbrow of Woodstock, Minnesota; one brother, Noah Disbrow of Woodstock, Minnesota; grandfather, Eldon Kruger and his wife Arlene of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; grandmother, Diane Disbrow “Gma” and Lang Hughes “Gpa” of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; great-grandparents, Wayne and Irene DeGrote of Seal Beach, California; and countless other friends and family, from California and Minnesota She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lucille “Grammy” Kruger; great-grandmother, Sylvia “Granny Mac” McCormick; and great-grandparents, Helen “Oma” and John “Opa” Kruger.
