Debra E. Solis

Debra Ellen Solis was born on November 14, 1958 to LeRoy and Constance (Baldwin) Lindblom in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Debra was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. As a child, the family relocated to Luverne, Minnesota where she received her confirmation at Grace Lutheran Church. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1977. She attended colleges at Minnesota State University Moorhead, University of Houston, and St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She spent 13 years in Texas before returning to Minnesota. Debra worked in education and social work since 1982. She loved working with individuals, families, and community members to reach their goals. Debra may have lived many places but her mantra was “all who wander are not lost”. Her last years were spent in retirement. She was a current resident of Apple Valley, Minnesota. She was later diagnosed with metatastic breast cancer. On Saturday, January 20, 2024, Debra passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family at the age of 65 years, two months and seven days.

Debra attended Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. She was active as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon within the ELCA Lutheran Churches. Her desire was to become the best citizen she could be. She kept up with politics and exercised her right to vote. She felt the goal of her work in education and social work was to better the lives of others. She enjoyed anything that involved some type of art. She liked to dabble. Her favorite sayings were, “you are never alone” and “Jesus is a friend of mine”. Most cherished was her family. She very much enjoyed her grandchildren and nieces and nephew. She found great joy in interacting with children, teens, and adults in the realization they are all God’s children and we are here to help care for them. 

Debra is lovingly remembered by her three children, Crystal Solis of Apple Valley, Christianna Solis of Apple Valley, and Nicole (Corelle) Solis of Richfield, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Ashton Jones Decker, Carson Jones Decker, Kyla Jones, Milo Jones, and Zerena Solis; siblings, Darwin (Jack Byers) Lindblom of St. Paul, Darrin (Paula) Lindblom of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, and Dawn Lindblom of Richfield, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Constance Lindblom.
