DELORES JEAN HAGEDORN was born to Knute and Regina (Aanenson) Hanson on October 31, 1926 on a farm north of Magnolia, Minnesota. She was one of eleven siblings. The day after she was born, her mother went out in the field and picked corn by hand. She was raised on the farm and attended country school. In 1939, she moved with her family who bought a farm in Elmer Township of Pipestone County, Minnesota where she continued her education. During this time, she worked for a short time at JcPenney’s. On December 7, 1944, she was united in marriage to Howard Hagedorn in Pipestone. Following their marriage, they lived on the family farm. On October 22, 2013, she became a resident at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. She died there on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the age of 90 years, three months and 28 days.
Delores enjoyed crocheting table doilies, sewing, gardening, playing rummy, and bowling. She also enjoyed refinishing furniture. In their younger years, she and Howard loved to dance. She was very interested in family history and genealogy.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children, William “Bill” Hagedorn and his wife Carol Hagedorn of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Honee Lee Longstreet and her husband Bob and Steve Hagedorn, both of Pipestone, Minnesota; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; and 10 siblings, Herbert Hansen, Margaret (Ernie) Jacobsen, Kermit Hanson, Mamie (Lars) Trygsland, Walter Hanson, Katherine (Hugo) Larsson, Quinten Hanson, Ethel (Martin) Kleiven, Lillian (Basel) Evans, and Karoline (Robert) Meinhardt.
