Dennis G. Gallop

DENNIS G. GALLOP was born on February 1, 1947 to Vern and Mavis (Bartlett) Gallop in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was raised in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1965. Following graduation, he entered into the United States Navy and honorably served his country from April 2, 1964 to April 24, 1966. He returned home to Sioux Falls after his service and began his life long career as an over the road truck driver. He married Rhonda Kae Theel in 1995 and the couple made their home in Jasper, Minnesota. Dennis retired from trucking in 1998. On June 14, 2019, Dennis passed away at the couple’s home in Jasper at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 13 days.

Dennis enjoyed dirt track and Nascar racing and watching wrestling. He loved to head to auctions and find good deals. He enjoyed fishing throughout his life and had fond memories of visiting the family cabin on Lake Brandt every weekend growing up. Dennis had a great sense of humor. He loved people, talking with everyone and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for sitting on his golf cart in the backyard.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children, Patty (Mitch) Oien of Hartford, SD, AJ (Kynyatta) Gallop of Pipestone, MN and Michelle Gallop of Yankton, SD; stepchildren, Dawn Theel of Sioux Falls, Branley (Victoria) Theel of Princeton, MN and Dominic Theel of Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren, Lake, Cauy, Paige, Aiden, Jordan, Brody, Bella, Drake, Bianca, Xavier, Gage, Jaden and Keagan; and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mike; an infant son; and his siblings, Jerry Gallop and Nancy Hallem.
