Devon Tramayne Fletcher was born on November 11, 1994 to James Gilbert and Connie Lou (DeRuyter) Fletcher in Pipestone, Minnesota. He attended grade school at Edgerton Christian in Edgerton, Minnesota through the 7th grade and then attended Pipestone Area Schools through the 10th grade. He then went to work with his uncle, Dave, then for Travis Jasper Construction and Blake Jasper as well. At a young age he was dedicated at the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Devon passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 18, 2023 as the result of an automobile accident that took place near Elkton, South Dakota.
Devon started riding dirt bike at the age of five and loved spending his time outdoors fishing, hunting, and doing any outdoor activity. He lived to ride dirt bike and loved anything with an engine!
Devon will be remembered for his contagious laugh. He shared his hugs with many and could make anyone laugh. His loved ones will remember him saying “urrr what,” “send it,” and “go big or go home.” He loved to travel the back roads and knew all the best ways to get somewhere. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart. He also loved his dear family pet dog, Luna.
Devon became an uncle in September of 2022 and he found a new adoration for that little guy. It solidified his love for kids and being around them.
In high school he was active in wrestling, football, baseball, and basketball. He enjoyed playing sports of all kinds and staying active.
Devon is lovingly remembered by his father, James Fletcher of Simpsonville, South Carolina; his mother, Connie Fletcher of Holland, Minnesota; siblings, Justice (special friend, Taylor Harmsen) Fletcher and their son, Jaylen, and Travon Fletcher; his grandfather, James Fletcher, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and honchos (friends). He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Margaret DeRuyter; paternal grandmother, Gloria; and aunts, Karen DeGroot, Barb Brinkhous, and Lynne DeRuyter.
