DOUGLAS LEE FEEKES was born on November 21, 1947, to Rouland and Lucille (Holbrook) Feekes in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls in 1966. During his junior year of high school, Doug enlisted in the United States Navy and served over in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Doug was united in marriage to Luetta Brewer in December of 1972. To this union a daughter, Kristie was born in 1973 and a son, Douglas Jr. in 1975. In 1979 Doug adopted a daughter, Janice. In 2003 Doug and Luetta parted ways. Doug moved to Pipestone where he then was united in marriage to Lana Voeller on February 6, 2004, in Sioux Falls. Throughout his life, he worked at Sioux Falls Stockyards, John Morrell Stockyards, Tyco Plastics, Suzlon Wind Generators, and drove truck. He retired in 2008. In 2018, Doug moved to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. He would often be found putting models together, playing bingo, or playing Pinochle. Doug passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2021, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne at the age of 73 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

Doug was a member of the Moose Lodge in Sioux Falls, the Michael Boock American Legion Post #6 in Pipestone (where he was a commander for one year), First Presbyterian Church in Holland, Minnesota, and the Salvation Army Church in Sioux Falls. Doug enjoyed fishing and watching westerns movies (especially John Wayne movies). He also enjoyed going to the festival of bands competitions, in fact the last one he attended was in Luverne during the month of October. Many knew Doug as “Manny”. He loved attending family reunions and spending time with his grandchildren. Doug was very social and loving. He will be missed for his great sense of humor and for being a jokester.
