Dr. Brian Williamson

Brian Erby Williamson was born September 25, 1936 to Raymond Erby and Naomi Jean (Bjork) Williamson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School in 1954. He then entered the United States Navy and was stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany for two years. He returned to Minneapolis in 1957 and began college at Northwestern College of Chiropractic. He graduated in 1960 and began practicing in Glen Lake, Minnesota. On November 7, 1958 Brian was united in marriage to Judy Disch in Aldrich Avenue Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. Their union was blessed with two children and 58 years of life together. Brian practiced in Glen Lake 1960-1963, then moved to Tyler where he provided chiropractic services until 2009 when he retired. Following a decline in health due to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, he entered Avera Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in 2013, where he died on December 2, 2016 at age 80.

Brian was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Benton where he was a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a member of Kiwanis, and served on Tyler City Council, Board of Minnesota Baptist Association, and Board of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. He was administrator of Buffalo Ridge Christian Academy in Lake Benton. He also enjoyed playing golf.

Brian is lovingly remembered by his wife Judy of Tyler; son Todd of Virginia, Minnesota; daughter Lisa (Paul) Michalski of Silver Bay, Minnesota; grandchildren, Mark (and Anna), Maria (and Jake), Jonathan (and Alannah), and Katherine (and Tyler); great-grandchildren, Finley Jon and Mia Rose; brother, Blair (Diane) Williamson of Waxhaw, North Carolina; sister, Barbara Liberty of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
