Elvina "Dottie" Mae Wiese

ELVINA 'DOTTIE' MAE WIESE was born to Henry Leo and Ann (Laqua) Stephens on October 30, 1925 in Dumont, Minnesota. After she completed elementary school, she moved with her parents to Wheaton, Minnesota. Then, in 1943, she moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where she worked in a restaurant. On January 10, 1945, she was united in marriage to Norman “Tootie” Wiese at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived in Pipestone and Dottie worked for Armour Company for 12 years. Later she became employed in the deli at Juba’s Grocery Store in Pipestone where she worked for 17 years. Her husband preceded her in death on July 10, 1995. After his death, she continued to live in Pipestone. In 2008, she moved to the Country Estates Addition in Pipestone after living in her home for over 50 years. In 2014, Dottie moved to the Ridgeview Estates where she resided until the time of her death on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Pipestone County Medical Center at the age of 90 years, three months and 10 days.

Dottie was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone, and she was also a member of the church circle. She was active at the Pipestone Senior Center and delivered Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Dottie loved watching her grandchildren play ball and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Her favorite times were spent babysitting her grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Dianne Sterrett and her husband Richard of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Mark Wiese and his wife Shelley of Pipestone, Minnesota; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; two step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerold Stephens and his wife Joyce of St. Petersburg, Florida; and one sister, Ardell Johnson of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Ken, Richard, Floyd and Donald Stephens; and two sisters, Donnalye Kelly and Isabelle Walrath.
