EUNICE ESTHER ZINGLER was born to William and Wilhelmina (Lietzua) Beack on December 8, 1926 on a farm near Buffalo Lake, Minnesota where she was raised, attended country school, and was baptized and confirmed. After she graduated from Buffalo Lake High School, she began working for a dentist in Buffalo Lake. On June 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Murray Edward Zingler in Buffalo Lake. Following their marriage, they lived in Glencoe, Minnesota where Eunice worked as a seamstress in a factory called Strutwear. In 1957, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. While living in Pipestone, Eunice worked for both Dr. Lohmann and Dr. Keyes. She also worked for Subway for 12 years. On March 29, 1996, Murray preceded her in death. After his death, she continued to live and work in Pipestone. After his death she became employed as a dietary assistant at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. In 2015 she moved to Fairmont, Minnesota into an apartment where she resided until November 1, 2018 when she entered Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center. On Thursday, November 8, 2018 she passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years, and 11 months.
Eunice was a member of Christ the King Free Lutheran Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed doing needle work and cross stitching. She also enjoyed watching the birds and feeding them. She was very close to her dogs and treated them just like her children. When she lived in Fairmont, she spent many hours volunteering at the Fairmont Hospital as a greeter. She liked to listen to music, but she especially liked spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Lee Ann (Charles) Gilmore of Rochester, Minnesota, and Bruce (Linda) Zingler of Fairmont, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Sara and Matthew Gilmore, Kyle (Janelle) Zingler, Erik (fiancé, Rebecca Davis) Zingler, and Katrina (Lee) Schoen; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Oliver, Rhett, (and a fourth on the way!); and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Nate Charles Zingler; two sisters, Eleanora Schnichels and Dorothy Stangeland; and her 6 fur babies.
