Faye Long

Faye Lois (Lange) Long was born on October 29, 1927 to Frank and Rebecca (Petchow) Lange on a farm one mile east of Ward, South Dakota. Faye was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ward. Faye attended school in Elkton, South Dakota and graduated from Flandreau in 1945. She was married to Donald Long on March 21, 1968 in Reno, Nevada. The couple was married for 50 years at the time of Donald's passing in October of 2018. Faye worked for many years at Kramer's in Elkton and Sturdevants in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  In September of 2017 she moved to Ridge View Estates in Pipestone where she resided until May of 2021 when she moved to Brookings to be closer to family.  She then resided at The Neighborhoods at Brookview in Brookings where she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the age of 95.  

Faye was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran church in Pipestone.

She is remembered by her daughters, Joan Stoltenberg, Brenda (Terry) Rave and Bennie Borstad; her sons, Paul Henningsen and Roger Herrera; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lavon Culhane; and many other loving friends and family members. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Frank and Rebecca; and her siblings, Louis Lange, Ruth Langner, and Phyllis Bauer.
