GLENN ALLEN JOHNSON, SR. was born to Theodore Orville and Irene Elizabeth (Holtz) Johnson on February 12, 1944 in Jamestown, North Dakota where he was raised and attended school. Upon completion of his education, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his discharge in 1963, he returned to Jamestown. In 1965, he moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where he was employed as a semi-truck driver for several years. He then began working for Midwest Coast in 1975 until 1980 when he became employed by Bayliner Marine. After his retirement in 1989, he remained in Pipestone. He began spending his winter months in Raymondville, Texas in 1995. On August 10, 2010, he was united in marriage to Sally Ann Jersey in Pipestone. Following their marriage, they resided in Pipestone until 2011 when they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. On June 27, 2014 he was admitted to Rapid City Regional Hospital and died there on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the age of 70 years, four months and 22 days.
Glenn was a member of Michael Boock American Legion Post #6 in Pipestone. He enjoyed fishing and camping and loved classic cars and Harley Davidsons.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sally Ann Johnson of Rapid City, South Dakota; seven children, Kathleen Loomer and her husband Don of Williston, North Dakota, Tammy Lockman and her husband Fred of Sterling, Colorado, Patricia Crow of Evans, Colorado and fianc, Mike Korte, Catherine Johnson of Ames, Iowa, Heidi Pitt and her husband Jesse of Rockingham, North Carolina, Glenn Johnson, Jr. and his wife Amanda of LaSalle, Colorado and Gretchen Johnson of Story City, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four siblings, Lois Knudson and her husband Duane of Jamestown and Duane Johnson, both of Jamestown, North Dakota and Burnell Johnson and his wife Deloris and Sandra Dahlke and her husband Juel, both of Rapid City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Alex Warren; one son-in-law, Brad Crow; his parents, Theodore and Irene; two brothers, Quinton and Gerald Johnson; and one sister-in-law, Adeline Johnson.
