GLENN ANDREW SWENSON was born on February 11, 1936 to Walter and Helen (Moerke) Swenson in Luverne, Minnesota. He was raised on the farm and attended school through the eighth grade. Following his education, he continued working on the farm. He honorably served his country through the National Guard. On July 20, 1963 Glenn was united in marriage to Marlys Kruse. The couple lived in various places and was blessed with five children. During his life, Glenn held a number of jobs including working at Hanson Silo, Luverne Truck and on and off for many years at Gath Farms. Marlys preceded him in death on March 28, 2000. In January 2021, Glenn moved to the Tuff Village in Hills, Minnesota. On Friday, May 28, 2021 he died peacefully at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage at the age of 85 years, three months and 17 days.
Glenn was a simple man throughout his life. His passion was on the farm and he enjoyed his daily routine of having coffee with the guys and making his rounds throughout the town. He also enjoyed Elvis and John Deere tractors.
Glenn is survived by his five children, Glenda (Berwin) DeJager of Brandon, South Dakota, Terry (Theresa) Swenson of Pipestone, Minnesota, Kevin (Kristi) Swenson of Jasper, Minnesota, LaDawn (Nick Brandt) Swenson of Hudson, South Dakota, and Shaun Swenson of Luverne; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five siblings, Gordon Swenson of Hardwick, Minnesota, Gloria (Gary) Ernston of Lakeville, Minnesota, Janet Sudenga of Luverne, Cindy (David “Red”) Cauwels of Adrian, Minnesota, and Carol Swenson of St. Paul, Minnesota; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Marlys Roloff and Sharon Maras.
