Glenn Vos

GLENN LEROY VOS was born the fourth of five children to Michael and Anna (Aardema) Vos on June 7, 1939 in Matlock, Iowa. In 1940 the family moved to a farm near Hardwick, Minnesota, where he spent his childhood. He attended grade school in Hardwick and high school in Luverne. Following his education, Glenn drove milk truck for his older brother, Nelson, for a number of years. He then went to work for Sioux Valley Milk Producers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as a boiler technician. Glenn later attended Granite Falls Technical School in Minnesota where he received a degree in the Tool and Die program. He then put his degree to work and became a machinist at Warner Manufacturing in Sacred Heart, Minnesota, eventually becoming their head machinist. Upon his retirement from the company, Glenn went to work part-time driving milk truck for Viessman’s Trucking.

On Friday, July 8, 2016, Glenn passed away at his home in Montevideo, Minnesota at the age of 77 years, one month and one day.

Glenn had a strong love for animals, the Colorado Mountains, mechanical things of all sorts and driving trucks. He was very well read and loved spending time with family and friends.

Glenn is survived by his two siblings, Kenneth (Francie) Vos and Linda Vos; two sisters-in-law, Fran Vos and Betty Vos; eight nephews and nieces; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna Vos; and two brothers, Homer Vos and Nelson Vos.
