Hobart “Bart” Redenius, age 59, or Elkton, South Dakota, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at Avera Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. Private family services are planned. Arrangements are provided by Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel. On-line registry may be found at www.hartquistfuneral.com.
Hobart “Bart” Lee Redenius was born October 27, 1958 to Ralph and Charyl (Lias) Redenius in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up in Sioux Falls through the seventh grade at which time the family moved to a farm near Elkton, South Dakota. Bart graduated from Lake Benton (MN) High School in 1977. He was united in marriage to Glenda Stein on December 29, 1979 in Elkton, South Dakota. Their union was blessed with three sons and 38 years of life together. They made their home and raised their family in Gillette, Wyoming for 13 years. In 1997, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. Bart worked at Greg’s Welding P.S. He retired in 2011 following a stroke. Bart entered Avera Sunrise Manor Nursing Home on December 14, 2017 where on Monday, January 29, 2018 he died at the age of 59.

Bart enjoyed working and helping farmers.

Bart is lovingly remembered by his wife, Glenda, of Elkton, SD; two sons, Cheyne (Tara) Even and their son, Michael, of Las Vegas, NV, and Emery (Nicole) Redenius and their daughter, Alexis, of Sioux Falls, SD; his father, Ralph Redenius of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother, Charyl Wittfoth of Sioux Falls, SD; five brothers; two sisters; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Redenius.
