Jacqueline Descheuquette-Thompson

JACQUELINE THERESA THOMPSON DESCHEUQUETTE, age 64 of Jasper, MN, passed away on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at the Pipestone County Hospice House in Pipestone, MN after a long battle with lung cancer. She was often seen sitting outside, chatting with those passing by, and watching God’s creatures.

She was born on October 17th, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa. Jacqueline graduated from Harrold High School in Harrold, SD with the Class of 1971. Jacqueline is a member of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe. She is remembered by many for her love of style. She enjoyed new fashion trends and sampling cosmetics. Visiting her family and friends were highlights in her day, but she enjoyed spending time alone. She had a unique way of remembering what was special in each person's life. She enjoyed reading her Bible, inspirational books, fashion magazines and watching scary movies. She loved being outdoors. She rescued countless cats and dogs throughout her life and cared deeply for animals of all sorts. One of her favorite things was watching birds. Her spunky spirit made her truly memorable.

Jacqueline is survived by her only child, Lloyd 'BJ” Thompson and his wife, Tammy; her six grandchildren, Taylor, Alysse, Max, Stuart, Philip, and Zachary; her two brothers, Sonny Peck and Michael Daniels; her two sisters, Cathy Thompson and Shelly Christopherson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild due to be born soon. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her birth mother, Patty Thompson, Julia LaRoche Peck (“Mom”), Bill Peck (“Daddy”), Grandmother Inez LaRoche Houser and Grandfather, Ben Thompson, Sr..

The family thanks the staff at the Pipestone Hospice Home for caring for her through all the ups and downs over the past two and a half years.
