Jacquelyn Sue Heesch was born on May 23, 1958 to Eldon and Marjorie (Rasmusen) Schmidt in Tyler, Minnesota and grew up on the family farm near Lake Benton, Minnesota. At a young age, she and her family moved into town and Jackie attended school while also working at her Mom’s restaurant. Following her education, Jackie had various sewing jobs, working for a number of years in upholstery at Bayliner Marine in Pipestone, Minnesota. On July 28, 1984, Jackie married Thomas Heesch in Pipestone, Minnesota. In 1993, Jackie began working in healthcare and enrolled in school Southwestern Technical College for administration and accounting, graduating in June 1994. In 1995, Jackie took a job in billing support at the Pipestone County Medical Clinic. She enjoyed the people she worked with through the years. On Thursday, March 2, 2023, Jackie died suddenly as the result of a heart attack at the age of 64 years, nine months and ten days.
Jackie was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Lake Benton. She was currently a member of Faith Community Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed gardening, furniture restoration, completing numerous craft projects, shopping and decorating her home. She had a gift of taking something ordinary and somehow turning it into something beautiful. She and her husband, Tom, enjoyed working together on their home and took great pride in their yard. She was always very fashion focused and had a shoe collection that many ladies would envy.
Jackie loved her two children and later loved spending time with her grandkids and attending their various sporting events and activities. Jackie loved her family with her whole heart and let it be known that they were her pride and joy.
Jackie is lovingly survived by her husband, Tom; two children, Amber (Brent) DuHoux of Melrose, Wisconsin, Bobby Kuiper of Edgerton, Minnesota; seven grandkids, Kaylee (Thomas) Hamling, Brayden Kuiper, Carl Haag, Breylon Kuiper, Kade Moffitt, Jayse Kuiper, and Rayah Kuiper; two great-grandkids, Diandray and Charlie; four siblings, Philip Schmidt of Lake Benton, Mona (Pat) Haynes of Lake Benton, Kim Gates (Bill) of Lake Benton, and Jane (Kevin) Davenport of Vancouver, Washington; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Marjorie Schmidt; and her mother-in-law Ethel Heesch.
