Jared S. Lingen

January 25, 1995 — April 26, 2013

JARED SCOTT LINGEN was born on January 25, 1995 to Gregory and Bonita (Brower) Lingen at Weiner Memorial Hospital in Marshall, Minnesota. He was baptized at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock, Minnesota, and raised in the family home in Ruthton, Minnesota. At age four, he moved with his family to an acreage west of Hardwick, Minnesota. Jared loved the rural life and had an affection for the animals around the yard - eventually naming every one of them. Prior to attending Hills-Beaver Creek (HBC) school in Hills, Minnesota, Jared attended the Hills Christian school. In October 2009, he moved with his family to an acreage near Luverne, Minnesota, and continued schooling at HBC. Jared grew out of his “gordito” nickname and childhood bow legs to participate in football and track at HBC. Everyone who knew Jared knew how much he loved playing for the Patriots. He also belonged to Future Farmers of America (FFA) where he served as the Sentinel Officer (otherwise known as the Wal-Mart greeter and thermostat controller) and was a state-ranked soil judge. He enjoyed schooling friends and family in video games, chillaxin’ in Hills with friends, and eating bacon-wrapped hot-dogs. Jared had a quick wit and the timing of comedic genius. He made us all laugh and his jokes and comedic insights will live on in infamy. His nature was that of silent comforter – may comfort forever come in the wonderful memories he created with his family and friends.

On Friday, April 26, 2013 Jared went to be with the Lord at the age of 18 years, three months and one day.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Bonnie Lingen of Hills and father, Greg (Tammy) Lingen of Luverne; seven siblings, Vicky VanderWoude of St. Paul, Minnesota, Seth VanderWoude (Christine Ogado) of St. Paul, Davita Farwick of Phoenix, Arizona, Deidre Farwick current Peace Corp volunteer in Thailand, Jonah (Rachel) Lingen of Luverne, Jocilan (fianc, Daniel Fick) Lingen of Hills, Jasmine Lingen of Luverne; three step-siblings, Dusty Seachris (Missy Streeter) of Luverne, Kerry (Tiffany) Fink of Luverne, Chelsi Fink (fianc, Trevor Denherder) of Brookings, South Dakota; nephew, Ian Daniel Lingen; step-nephew, Camden Fink; maternal grandparents, Vernon (Wilma) Brower of Luverne; paternal grandparents, Vaughn (Bessie) Lingen of Tyler, Minnesota; many aunts, uncles, cousins; the Graduating Class of 2013; and countless friends.
