JASON MICHAEL REMME was born on June 24, 1983 to James and Idella (Rye) Remme in Luverne, Minnesota. He was baptized at the Bethany Lutheran Church and attended Ellsworth Public School, graduating in 2002. After graduation, Jason worked several jobs, at a hog confinement building, for Bayliner, and for BP gas. He found his calling when he accepted a position as a cook at the Howling Dog. He worked as a cook for the next 20 years. People would often call to see if he was cooking before coming down. On October 21, 2020, Jason was united in marriage to Brittany Pastorella. On Monday, December 5, 2022, Jason went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 39 years, 5 months, and 11 days.
Jason will be lovingly remembered for his warm, welcoming attitude toward everyone. He had an infectious laughter that sounded almost kid-like to his family. He was a family man who loved spending time with his wife and children. He and Brittany enjoyed driving around listening to music. He also enjoyed having bonfires with his daughters as it was something special they did together. He was also the preferred parent as his kids would often say, “Daddy does it the right way!” He shared his passion for Vikings football, Star Wars, and Batman with his friends and family. He also loved cats and was a very gifted guitar player. In his spare time, he enjoyed driving and working on his Ford pick-up truck.
Jason is survived by his wife, Brittany Remme of Luverne; parents, James Remme of Luverne, and Idella Rye-Hastings (Terry Hastings) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; step-daughters, Giada of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Antonia of Luverne; siblings, Becky Jo (Curt) Nelson of Luverne, Brian Remme of Luverne, and Jessica (Jeremy Dobernecker) Rye of Kansas City, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Trudy Rye; brother-in-law, Jeff Badger; father-in-law, Earl Horton; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives; numerous friends, including special friends, Jodi Reverts and Craig Enninga; and his favorite cat, Gibson. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Susan Horton; father-in-law, Anthony Pastorella; uncle, Bruce Rye; niece, Bernice Nelson; maternal grandfather, Isak Rye; paternal grandparents, and Duane and Bernice Remme. He will be dearly missed.
