JENNIFER LOUISE CATTNACH was born on February 25, 1978 to Steve and Penny (Marzinske) Cattnach in Kokomo, Indiana. She was baptized June 4, 1978 at First Presbyterian Church in Peru, Indiana. At a young age her family moved to Luverne, Minnesota where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1996. In school, she enjoyed the arts and being a part of 4-H where she took trips to the Minnesota State Fair with her photography skills. She then attended Mankato State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Art. She made her home in Shakopee, Minnesota where she met her future husband, Charles “Chip” Spurgin at the Renaissance Festival. She returned home to Luverne in the summer of 2010. Jennifer and Chip were married on July 4, 2015 at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their greatest blessing was the addition of their son, Garret. Jennifer worked in residential services as a Youth Counselor and caregiver. On September 4th, 2019, Jennifer died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Hardwick, Minnesota at the age of 41 years, 6 months and 9 days.
Jennifer’s hobbies included sewing, photography, sketching and pottery. She took on the role of home schooling Garret and was involved in the scouting program as well as continued involvement in the local 4-H chapter. Jennifer will be remembered for her strong opinions, love of cats, infectious laugh and smile and never being short of things to say. She especially loved spending time with Garret and taking walks with him.
Jennifer is remembered by her husband, Charles of Luverne and their son, Garret Cattnach; her parents, Steve and Penny Cattnach of Luverne; siblings, Bruce (Jeri) Cattnach of Sioux Falls, SD, and Barb (Tim) Anderson of Luverne; and her nieces and nephews, Erica (Travis) Garrison of Rock Valley, IA, Joe Lund of Sioux Falls, and Jessica, Kaitlyn and Abigail Anderson of Luverne. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chester and Marjorie Marzinske and Wallace and Marian Cattnach.
