Jodi Pries was born September 29, 1978 to Charles and Rita (Thooft) Klukas in Marshall, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. She grew up in Russell, Minnesota and graduated from Russell-Tyler-Ruthton High School in 1997. She continued her education at Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls, Minnesota, receiving a degree in accounting. Jodi married Timothy Pries on her birthday, September 29, 2001 at St. Dionysius Catholic Church. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Samantha and Makayla, and nine years of life together. The couple began their family and home in Russell. Jodi worked in many different areas of The Schwan Food Company. On December 7, 2009 Jodi was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue. Jodi had a love for life and was determined not to be defeated by her illness. After a courageous battle, Jodi died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 32 years, 3 months, and 13 days.
Jodi was a member of St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. She enjoyed going to the park to play with her family and camping, especially her annual trip with Tim up north to Detroit Lakes. Jodi was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Jodi is lovingly remembered by her husband, Tim of Russell, Minnesota; her daughters, Samantha and Makayla; her parents, Chuck and Rita Klukas of Russell, Minnesota; siblings, Jon Klukas and his wife Val of Russell, Minnesota, Jena Klukas of Ruthton, Minnesota, and Jaci Klukas of Russell, Minnesota; grandmother Vicki Faragher of Marshall, Minnesota; grandfather Ernie Thooft of Tyler, Minnesota; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death grandparents Lloyd and Nancy Klukas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
