JORDYN KATE OLSEN was born to Justin and Jodie (Smook) Olsen on July 14, 2006 in Pipestone, Minnesota. She moved from her earthly home to the beautiful Kingdom of Heaven on March 20, 2014 surrounded by her family at home.
At 7 years old, Jordyn touched more lives and held more hearts than anyone could hope to do in a lifetime. She understood at a very young age the greatness of love and faith. With a smile that could light up the world, she bravely battled 2 different cancers throughout her young life. Any chance she had, she loved to swing and ride her bike up and down the street. Rarely would you see her without her infamous leggings and a mis-matched skirt on or in her favorite cupcake pajamas. She loved campfires, camping and swimming in the backyard pool. Never one for much attention, Jordyn enjoyed her days snuggled up in her parent's bed with her favorite blankies and pillows watching Disney or playing barbies with her big sister while her little brother pestered them. Her iPad was never far from her side and was loaded up with cooking and baking apps.
She loved going to school whenever she was able and her favorite part was being the milk carrier and her time with her PE Teacher, Mr. R. She'd say, Ruthie made the best chicken sandwiches and walking tacos she'd ever ate in her life. She enjoyed her rides down the hall in Mr. Sterud's chair and spending time with her friends at recess. Hiding from Lori and Jazmin was always fun for her.
Bedtime was her favorite time with Daddy, 'Who's my little Princess?' Jordyn would answer 'Me!' 'Who's the best Daddy?' 'You!' Her car rides and many trips to the Doctor's was her special time with Mom. She'd have to listen to her music and have it cranked, singing word for word and never missing a beat.
She especially loved all of the times she spent with her grandparents either at the farm by Kenneth, Minnesota or in Ihlen, Minnesota. Going sledding, making strawberry malts and heading to Kenneth for cheeseballs were always on top of her to-do list!
Jordyn is greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her parents, Justin and Jodie and her siblings, Brenna and London. Her dog, Odie and her kitties from the farm: Stephanie and Michelle. Her Maternal grandparents, Randy and Vicky Smook of Luverne, Minnesota, paternal grandparents, Gary and Marcine Olsen of Ihlen, Minnesota; aunts: Rebecca (Noel) Nistler of Milton, Georgia, Katie (Chris) Hodapp of Farmington, Minnesota and Chelsea Olsen of Ihlen; uncle Dustin Olsen of Ihlen; cousins Mackenzie and Lanie of Milton, Georgia; great-grandmas Jacoba Boersma of Pipestone and Joann (Lyle) Miller of Ihlen; great-great grandma Helen Woelber of Pipestone. She was greeted in Heaven by her great-grandmas Marion and Marjorie and great-grandpas Tom, Harold, Eddie and Ervin and a very, very special friend JP Peters.
