Kelly O'Briant

Kelly Patrick O’Briant was born to Nolan and Twila (Linker) O’Briant on January 25, 1957 in Boulder, Colorado. Kelly’s childhood was marked by a deep love for the outdoors, engaging in activities such as bike riding, fishing, and camping. He derived joy from coaching T-ball and baseball, helping shape the lives of young athletes in his community. He attended Loveland Highschool, Kelly dedicated his career to service, beginning with Rutledge Steel Fabrication from 1980 until 1990, followed by his tenure with the Rural Electric Association, from which he retired in 2019. On June 23, 1984 Kelly was united in marriage to Colleen H Weber in Loveland, Colorado. Kelly helped out all over. He helped out in Colorado and Wyoming doing miscellaneous jobs. His commitment to community continued as he worked at the Loveland Fairgrounds, ensuring that joy was found in local events. After retirement, they relocated to Lake Shoakatan, where Kelly passionately devoted his free time to fishing and enjoying the serenity of nature. He was a member of the Rocky Mountains Elk Foundation, he relished outdoor adventures and created cherished family memories at the cabin he built in Colorado.

On Friday, March 14, 2025, Kelly passed away at the Hendricks Community Hospital at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 20 days.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and crossword puzzles in the winter. He was a “jack of all trades”, he could fix and build anything. Kelly built a cabin in Colorado where they spent most of their weekends where they did lots of hiking and fishing. Kelly deeply loved his children and all of their spouses and he truly loved being a grandpa to his grandchildren. Kelly was a devoted father, he offered unwavering guidance and support to Jason, Sara and Patrick, nurturing their dreams and shaping them into remarkable individuals that they are today. His love was a constant, steady presence in their lives. Kelly was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He brings an indelible legacy of love and kindness to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Colleen; three children, Jason (Amanda) Eich of Wellington, Colorado, Sara (Danny) Eich of Greeley, Colorado and Patrick (Holly) O’Briant of Burns, Wyoming; grandchildren, Katelyn, Garrett, Barry, Lexi, Payden, Rylan, Preslee and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Penny O’Briant and Melanie Hemeon; and his step brother, Keith O’Briant.
