Laurie Snyder

Shirley Laurie Synder was born on September 7, 1947 to Lawrence Hubert and Glenna Jean (Hoffman) Bingham in Moses Lake, Washington. She was one of four siblings. Laurie attended Moses Lake High School and graduated in the class of 1965. Shortly after graduating from high school she moved to San Diego in 1966 and lived in various places until the early 70's. She then traveled to Germany working as a caregiver for a younger boy (Charlie) and later moved back to Moses Lake in the mid 70's. Shirley moved to New York City, New York and then moved to Tyler, Minnesota. She worked for the Pipestone Newspaper for several years  until a hip injury in 2012. She also worked for the Tyler Tribute from December 10, 2011 to March 26, 2017. Laurie passed away peacefully at her home in Tyler on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Laurie has always led a faith based life. She was affiliated with several organizations throughout her life. She led prayer groups and loved sharing the word with young children. Laurie enjoyed playing and singing for nursing homes where ever she was at. She had such a special voice and loved music. Her music was so soothing for the residents. It was wonderful to watch. In her youth, Laurie was a member of the Fraternal Organization of Jobs Daughters. She enjoyed writing music, playing her guitar, rescuing cats and dogs. Laurie played music for most of her siblings, nieces and nephews weddings. She also played for her parents funeral services. Faith filled is the best description for Laurie. She was always sharing scripture readings and praying every day. Laurie was always a loving person and always finding the good in everyone that she encountered.

Laurie is survived by her siblings, Leah (Rod) Torgerson of Springfield, Missouri, Lind (Michele) Bingham of Moses Lake, Lawrence Bingham (Charlene Erickson) of Spokane, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister in law, Teresa.
