Leroy John Hartson

LeRoy John Hartson was born June 13, 1952 to Donald and Rosmary (Reese) Hartson in Tyler, Minnesota. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Russell, Minnesota and later confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton, Minnesota. He grew up in Ruthton and graduated from Ruthton High School. In 1970 LeRoy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of corporal. He worked in the clerical office as a typist during the Vietnam era. After his honorable discharge he returned to Ruthton and worked for Marshall Foods for a year, after which he began 34 years of employment at BH Electronics in Marshall, Minnesota. LeRoy retired after being diagnosed with cancer. He entered into care at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall on March 2, 2015 where he died on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the age of 62.

LeRoy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton. He was a member of Woodrow Wilson American Legion Post 506 in Ruthton. He enjoyed writing poetry, fixing watches, fishing, hunting, and collecting family history.

LeRoy is lovingly remembered by mother, Rosmary Hartson of Ruthton, Minnesota; siblings, Amber Hartson of Ruthton, MN, Ricky (Terry) Hartson of Revere, MN, Kelly Hartson of Moorhead, MN, Virginia Schulte (Randy) of Tyler, MN, Rodney (Clara) Hartson of Ruthton, MN, and Rose (Dan) Roberts of Paynesville, MN; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hartson; an infant sister; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hartson and Mr. and Mrs. John Reese.
