Lila Jean Roegiers

Lila Jean Roegiers, 77 of Bloomington, IN, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Hearthstone Health Campus. She was born January 17, 1937 in Jasper, MN, to Otto and Dora (Dock) Krapf. She graduated from Jasper High School where she met and later married the love of her life, Eugene Roegiers. As a married woman and Navy officer's wife, Lila lived in Corpus Christi, TX, Reykjavik, Iceland, Norfolk, VA, Coco Beach, FL, Bremerton, WA and Huntington Beach, CA. Civilian life took her to the Chicago area where she worked for Motorola and a final move to Bloomington, IN where she worked for Edwards Interiors. She later retired from a 25-year career at Sears and Roebuck as one of their top-selling custom drapery associates.

Lila was a passionate and dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church where she worked in the kitchen and later served as the first female Trustee of the congregation.

Her talents in baking, crafting, decorating, gardening, hosting and sewing were legendary. Lila enjoyed spending time with her family in Minnesota, attending her sons' games and performances, traveling with her husband, playing bridge, doting on her grandchildren and eating a chocolate dessert of some description.

Surviving family members include her husband, Eugene Roegiers, son Gregory Roegiers and his wife Anne of Eagle, ID, son David Roegiers of Chicago, grandchildren Alexander Roegiers of Salt Lake City, UT and Rachel Roegiers of Eagle, ID, her brother Paul Krapf of Sioux Falls, SD, sisters Lois Shella of Sioux Falls, SD, Lora Mae Sacks of Windom, MN and Karen Amdahl of Pipestone, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and nieces Jennifer Haugen and Susan Shella.
