Linda L. Holmgren

LINDA LOUISE HOLMGREN was born February 4, 1947 to Paul and Minnie (Hansen) Bendt in Luverne, Minnesota. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Trosky, Minnesota on October 5, 1947 and confirmed her faith on May 21, 1961 in Pipestone, Minnesota. When she was two, her family moved from Luverne to Pipestone where she spent most of her childhood years. She attended school in Pipestone, graduating with the class of 1965. She was united in marriage to Gary Holmgren on July 3, 1966 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Luverne where they raised their son, Jeff. Linda took a job at Mary Jane Brown – Good Samaritan Center in Luverne on May 1, 1975. She continued her work as a physical therapy aide until she retired due to health reasons on October 18, 2002. On April 17, 2013, Linda died peacefully at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Linda was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. She loved shopping with her friend, Marty, spoiling her grandkids, attending craft shows and making crafts, bowling and playing bingo.

Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary; her son, Jeff Holmgren and his wife Bobby of Luverne; her grandchildren, Zane, Zayda and Zariah Holmgren; four siblings, Larry Bendt of Bullhead City, AZ, Leon Bendt and his wife Clarine of Jordan, MN, LuAnn Bloemendaal of Pipestone, and Lyle Bendt of Pipestone; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lavonne Warntjes; brothers-in-law, Marvin Warntjes and Paul Bloemendaal; and her nephew, Chad Bloemendaal.
