Linda Mccord

LINDA LEE MCCORD was born to Herbert Leslie and Beaulah Mae (Logan) Kruckman on September 23, 1947 in Dickens, Iowa. When she was eight years old, she moved with her parents to Spencer, Iowa where she attended school. She moved to Park Rapids, Minnesota in 1965. On July 3, 1969, she married Norman McCord at the First Church of Christ in Storm Lake, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Storm Lake, Iowa until April, 1974, when they moved to Fonda, Iowa, and then to Sioux Rapids, Iowa. In 1979, they moved to Maynard, Minnesota. During this time, Linda had the joy of staying at home and raising their son Brian. On November 1, 1991, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where Linda was employed in the Housekeeping Department at the Pipestone County Medical Center until her retirement on January 17, 2010. Linda entered into the care of the Pipestone County Hospice House and passed away peacefully there on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 71 years, eight months, and 24 days.

Linda was raised in the Lutheran faith. She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed spending her time gardening and caring for her flowers. She and Norman always considered themselves home bodies, liking the time they spent together at their Pipestone home. During her working years she liked to find small gifts to purchase to give to her fellow coworkers; it brought her so much joy. Linda was a person who loved Christmas, with gifts to give and many decorations she really surrounded herself in the season!

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Norman McCord of Pipestone, Minnesota; and her son, Brian McCord and his wife Denise of Clancy, Montana. She is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Kruckman; her mother, Beaulah Kruckman; her sister, Delores Kruckman; her three stepbrothers, Vernon, Wayne, and Russell Sassman; her father-in-law, Harvey Luckow; and her mother-in-law, Glennetta Luckow.
