LLOYD "BUSH" THOMAS VANDEN BUSSCHE was born on December 9, 1957 to Walter and Loretta (Kruger) Vanden Bussche in Luverne, Minnesota. He was raised on the family farm and had a mind of his own from the age of two. During his younger years Lloyd often helped his parents on the farm milking cattle, even though he didn’t always enjoy it as much as riding his motorcycles. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1976, and furthered his education at the Pipestone Vo-Tech where he developed his carpentry skills. In 1979, Lloyd moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He lived here for one year before being united in marriage to Naomi Knock on July 11, 1981 at the Antelope Valley Church in Marietta, Minnesota. During the first year of their marriage the couple made their home in Sibley, Iowa while he worked for the rural water organization. In 1982, they returned to Sioux Falls and Lloyd began farming with his father in Rock County, Minnesota, eventually renting additional farmland as well. Lloyd and Naomi bought their land near Beaver Creek, Minnesota in December of 1989, he continued to live there until December 31, 2018 when he passed away at their home at the age of 61 years and 22 days.
Lloyd always liked to have a good time with his family and friends. For quite a few years, Lloyd loved being a part of the Gutter Bombs and Hidden Valley bowling teams. He loved cheering on the Vikings and participating in Fantasy Football. He was big fan of John Deere machinery. Lloyd often spent his free time making birdhouses out of gourds and was a talented gardener; he often sold his produce in Jasper, Minnesota and to his bowling teams. He will be remembered for his generosity, willingness to help neighbors and family with their farming, and for having fun with his grandchildren while riding four-wheelers.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Naomi Vanden Bussche of Brandon, South Dakota; his daughter, Deidre Vanden Bussche (Tanner) of Valley Springs, South Dakota; grandchildren, Dante and Loretta Tooley; siblings, Cynthia (Bill) Reu of Luverne, Earl (Tricia) Vanden Bussche of Beaver Creek, Veryl (Dwayne) Knigge of Monticello, Minnesota, and Jerald (Cheryl) Vanden Bussche of Luverne; brother-in-law, Merrill (Lisa) Peters; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Loann Peters.
