Lois Hatting

LOIS RONDI HATTING was born on August 4, 1938 to Harold and Clara (Nelson) Binford in Luverne, Minnesota, where she was raised. She received her education and graduated from Luverne High School in 1956. On August 28, 1971 Lois was united in marriage to Robert Hatting at the Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Luverne. Throughout her life, Lois worked sales positions at Ben Franklin, True Value and Loopy’s. She also worked for a time in the deli at Glen’s grocery store. Lois enjoyed being connected with people and helping them however she could; even if it simply was being there to offer her ear if they wanted to visit. Bob preceded her in death on January 26, 2011. Lois continued working part-time until her health declined. On Sunday, March 5, 2017 Lois died peacefully at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage at the age of 78 years, seven months and one day.

Lois was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed decorating throughout her house and putting together puzzles. She will be remembered for her humility, great wit and joy, and the compassion she had for others.

Lois is lovingly remembered by her children, Connie (Brian) Berseth of Fridley, Minnesota, Darcy Mulvihill (Bryan Sandwick) of Rogers, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Mulvihill of Cheyenne, Wyoming; six grandchildren, Chris Berseth, Chad Berseth, Eric Berseth, Derek Mulvihill, Breanna Kodet and Brielle Mulvihill; two great-grandchildren, Etta Berseth and Eisley Berseth; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Gregg Mulvihill; parents, Harold and Clara Binford; and four brothers, Howard, Lowell, Jerry and Keith Binford.

A special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage for the love and compassion they gave to Lois.
