LORI MARGARET MARKL was born on February 2, 1960 with her twin sister, Lehn, to Harold and Helen (Sorensen) Markl in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was baptized at St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. She lived her entire life in Pipestone and worked at Lange’s Café in 1976 while attending Pipestone Public High School. She graduated on June 4, 1979. Following her education, Lori worked at various places in town, including Pizza Hut, Loopy’s, and Casey’s General Store. Lori was an expert at customer service, greeting people with a smile and helping customers however she could. She always took time out of her busy day to visit with you and brighten your day! She is remembered as a sweetheart who always had a smile on her face and who looked on the brighter side of life each day. Lori entered the care of the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and battled Covid-19. She died there on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 60 years, 10 months, and 13 days.
Lori enjoyed going to swim class at the Rec Center in Pipestone. She enjoyed playing cards with the apartment ladies and spent countless hours putting puzzles together.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Joyce (Dennis) Buffington of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Susan Markl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Joey (Kim) Markl of Beresford, South Dakota, Tammy Dock of Pipestone, Lehn (James) Lovelett of Pipestone, Teresa (Doug) Byers of Sioux Falls, and Kevin Markl of Sioux Falls; 10 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
