LYLE ROBERT RASMUSSEN was born October 17, 1956 to Robert and Agneta (Nielsen) Rasmussen in Tyler, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler. He graduated from Tyler High School in 1975. Following his education he worked 32 years for the Lincoln County Highway Department in road maintenance, grading, drafting, and snow plowing. Lyle had a heart attack while working on Friday, February 4, 2011 and died at Tyler Healthcare Center at the age of 54 years, 3 months, and 18 days.
In his earlier years, Lyle played a lot of softball, and enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing pool. He will be missed by the Saturday card players. In his later years he became an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He went to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and enjoyed the poker runs. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a devoted son, father, brother, and friend.
Lyle is lovingly remembered by his son, Joshua Rasmussen and fiance Brittany of Brookings, South Dakota; his mother, Agneta Rasmussen of Lake Benton, Minnesota; his sister, Jane (and Jim) Palmer of Winona, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and brother, John.
