Lynda Sue Gruis

LYNDA SUE GRUIS was born on August 29, 1950 in Austin, Minnesota to Lawrence and Laura (Erlandson) Hugtveit. She attended school in Hayfield, Minnesota, graduating from high school in 1968. After she completed her education she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she met Earl Gruis and the two were united in marriage on December 14, 1974. She held various jobs over the years but the majority of her time and energy went towards caring for her family. In 2015, she retired from the Tyler Healthcare Center after working there for 15 years. On Monday, September 26, 2016 she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Pipestone County Hospice House in Pipestone at the age of 66 years and 27 days.

Lynda kept herself busy taking care of her home and everyone who entered it. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially Earl. Most of all she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 41 years, Earl, of Ruthton, Minnesota; two children, Joe (Samantha) Gruis of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and Jessie (Scott) Dougherty of Bloomington, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Mason, Finny and Ellie; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Hugtveit.
