Margaret Bruemmer was born to Ed and Jacoba (Westerhof) Vos on March 20, 1938 on a farm near Chandler, Minnesota. She was raised near Chandler, Minnesota where she attended a country school. While in grade school, she moved with her family to a farm near Woodstock, Minnesota where she continued her education. She was baptized and confirmed on the same day at Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton, Minnesota. In 1956, she graduated from Ruthton High School in Ruthton. On April 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Dallas Bruemmer at Peace Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they farmed on the Bruemmer farm by Holland, Minnesota until 1961, then they moved to the Woodstock area where they continued to farm. In March, 1967, they moved to their farm near Ruthton. She worked at Jensen’s Food Store for 11 years and then at Woolworth in Marshall, Minnesota for 12 years. Later, she worked at the Tyler Hospital in Tyler, Minnesota for a short time. She retired in 1994. On February 10, 1994, Dallas preceded her in death. After his death, she continued to live on their farm. On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, she died at her home at the age of 78 years, seven months and 19 days.
Margaret was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton where she belonged to a circle. She was also a member of the Earl Gruis American Legion Post 506 Auxiliary of Ruthton. She enjoyed doing puzzles, word searches and embroidery.
She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Ron Bruemmer of Ruthton, Minnesota and Diane Lingen and her husband Jerry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; two grandchildren, Eric Lingen and his wife Mercedes of Harrisburg, South Dakota and Kelli Lingen and her Fiance Zachari Wilson of Westminster, Colorado; three great-grandchildren, Aurora, Alexander and Arabella Lingen; three sisters, Marian Everett and her husband Paul of Pipestone, Minnesota, Marlene Jorgenson and her husband Charlie of Waubay, South Dakota and Lynda Steen and her husband Paul of Pipestone, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dallas; four brothers, Bill Vos, Edwin Vos, Melvin Vos and Marvin Vos; and two sisters, Elizabeth Fritz and Janet Hook.
