Margaret J. Wooge

Margaret Jean Wooge was born August 27, 1930 to Helmuth and Gertrude (Schmidt) Dahmer in Springfield, Minnesota. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. She worked at Green Giant in Sleepy Eye. On March 28, 1954 Margaret married Loyd Wooge. Their union was blessed with one son, Michael, and 48 years of life together. The couple farmed near Lamberton and Revere, Minnesota, before they moved to the farm near Florence, Minnesota in 1961 where they farmed and raised their family. Margaret enjoyed working with the livestock and helping Loyd and Mike with the family dairy. Loyd died November 15, 2002. Margaret moved to Danebod Village in Tyler, Minnesota in September 2002, and later became a resident at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler. On Saturday, May 26, 2012 Margaret died at Tyler Healthcare Center at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 29 days.

Margaret was a member of Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler. She enjoyed embroidery, collecting dolls, going to rummage sales, her life on the farm, and time spent with family, especially her grandsons, Derek and Christopher.

Margaret is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Wooge and his wife Kay of Florence, Minnesota; her grandsons, Derek (and Jessica) Wooge and their daughter Madalyn of Florence, Minnesota and Christopher Wooge of Russell, Minnesota; and her brother, John Dahmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd, and her parents.
