MARIAN CATTNACH was born on April 25, 1921 to Avery and Jennie (Pierce) Haney in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm west of Pipestone and attended country school through the eighth grade. Marian then attended Pipestone High School and graduated in 1939. On November 5, 1940 Marian was united in marriage to Wallace Cattnach at the Lutheran Church parsonage in Rock Rapids, Iowa. The couple worked for various farms until they purchased their own property west of Pipestone in March 1952. They farmed this land for over twenty years. During their time on the farms, Marian also was a homemaker to their family. In 1976, they sold their property and moved into Pipestone where they resided until 1988, when they then moved to Luverne, Minnesota. Wallace passed away on September 5, 1994. Marian continued to live in their home until moving to Bethany Meadows in Brandon, South Dakota in August 2008. In August 2013, Marian returned to Luverne where she resided at the Good Samaritan Society - Mary Jane Brown Home until Tuesday, December 31, 2013 when she passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years, eight months and six days.
Marian was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Luverne where she had taught Sunday School in her earlier years - she loved teaching junior high or middle school children.
