Marie Weber

Marie Doris Weber was born on December 8, 1922 on a farm near Ivanhoe, MN. She was the second youngest of 10 children born to Anton and Frances (Drietz) Frensko. Marie graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1940 and went on to become a teacher in the country school system near Ivanhoe where she taught for five years.

Marie married John M. Weber in 1947 and together they raised nine children on a farm five miles north of Lake Benton. Marie was a long time member of St. Genevieve’s Parish where she taught catechism for many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed quilting with women from her parish. She also was very involved with Mary Vocation Harvesters, a Schoenstatt Mothers’ group. She loved going on retreats to the Shrine in Sleepy Eye. Marie also enjoyed gardening, playing cards with the grandchildren and traveling with her family.

Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband John; her parents; their daughter Joan, their son Peter; and her siblings Leonard, Daniel, Evelyn, Sophie, Margaret, Adeline, Cecil, Audrey and Bernard.

Marie is lovingly remembered by her children: Fr. Michael Weber Green Bay, WI; Mary Loven (Gary) St. Cloud, MN; Nadine Christenson (Dewey) St. Michael, MN; Joseph Weber (Jodi) Lake Benton, MN; John T. Weber (LuAnn) Lake Benton, MN; Barbara Magtibay (Paul) Cave Creek, AZ; and Elizabeth Kor (Leighton) Ankeny, IA. She was blessed with 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Her family and their love for each other brought endless joy to her life.

In her final days she was lovingly cared for by family with the help of hospice in the Magtibay home in Cave Creek, AZ where she died on January 16, 2018.
